Mysoda Woody sparkling water maker has won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021 in the Kitchen Appliances and Kitchen Accessories category. The Red Dot Award has been an international recognition of quality design since 1955 and is considered one of the most prestigious design awards in the world.

The Mysoda Woody sparkling water maker, made of wood-based wood composite, was launched to the market late last year after a three-year development project. The sparkling water maker is designed by Pentagon Design and the body of the device is made of UPM Formi EcoAce wood composite, which is produced from by-products and residues of the forestry company UPM’s sawmill and pulp industry.

“For three years, we did uncompromising product development with our partners and created a device that is both pleasing to the eye and made of environmentally friendly material. We are very proud of the Red Dot Award and this international recognition,” says David Solomon, CEO of Mysoda.

“Mysoda is a great example of a company that combines sustainability and design to build competitive advantage. It has been great to be Mysoda’s design partner in supporting their international growth. Above all, the Red Dot Award is a recognition of our good cooperation towards a more sustainable future,” describes Arni Aromaa, Creative Director of Pentagon Design.

There are thousands of applications for the Red Dot Design Award each year, and the competition’s 50-member jury comprises of international design experts. Each product participating in the competition is evaluated for innovation, design, functionality, ecological compatibility, and durability. The jury awards this sought-after seal of quality only to products that feature an outstanding design.
