Viivi Lehikoinen, currently the best hurdler in Finland, had her international breakthrough in summer 2022. She holds, among others, the Finnish records in the 300 and 400 meter hurdles. Viivi has also been successful on an international level, first as a multi-medalist in youth competitions and later in the adult series. In the summer of 2022, Viivi ranked 6th in the final at the European Championships in Munich, and became the first Finnish woman to reach the final in the 400-meter hurdles competition. Mysoda has followed Viivi’s interesting story and exemplary performance as an athlete.

Mysoda’s values – sustainability, courage and locality – form the starting point of the sponsorship. For a Finnish company, supporting a domestic athlete is the right choice. “Viivi’s and Mysoda’s values are a perfect match, which makes cooperation natural. We want to support Viivi’s journey from the top of Finnish athletics to the top of Europe and the top of the world,” says Mysoda’s CEO David Solomon.

“I am proud of this cooperation. As a role model, I want to be a responsible influencer and my collaborative partner must share my values. Sustainability and locality mean a lot to me, and these factors are at the center of Mysoda’s operations. Also, as a visual person, I can admit that I am very particular about what I display in my home. The award winning Woody sparkling water maker can, rightly so, claim the prime spot in my kitchen.”, says Viivi Lehikoinen. The importance of proper hydration and water in an athlete’s everyday life is undeniable. “Drinking enough water is important for me as an athlete, as it is for everyone else. Maintaining fluid balance ensures a functioning body and thereby enables progress in training. In Finland, we have the best tap water in the world and bubbles make it even better. The amount of bubbles is easy to adjust and good sparkling water makes everyday life feel like a little celebration. I also like to spice up the water with natural aroma, such as lemon and herbs.”, Viivi explains.

Both Mysoda and Viivi Lehikoinen are looking forward to a successful collaboration. For 2023, Viivi is preparing for the EC competitions during the indoor season and the WC competitions in Budapest in August.
