What is Wood Composite?
For our sparkling water makers we use Eco Pure L40 wood composite manufactured by WOODCOMPOSITE SWEDEN AB. This wood composite, being produced from residue of the pulp and sawmill industries, does not require additional logging nor increase deforestation. Eco Pure L40 has two main components. 60 % of the material are made up of polypropylene made from renewable feedstock. Approximately 40 % of the material consist of wood fibre, a byproduct from the sawmill industry. Both of these raw materials are byproducts of other industries thus neither contributing to deforestation nor threatening food security.
Due to its composition from plant-based residue materials, wood composite stores more carbon during plant' growth than is emitted into the atmosphere during later production steps until the raw material is ready to be processed further into sparkling water makers. In addition, wood composite creates a distinctive, organic aesthetic. It brings a light smell of wood into your kitchen and the subtly visible wood fibres on the material’s surface make each sparkling water maker unique.
Does Wood Composite Absorb Water?
Unlike pure wood, wood composite is a waterproof material, perfect for use in appliances in wet environments.
