We are thrilled to announce that the elegant and functional design of one of our products has once again been recognized. Our second generation Ruby sparkling water maker – Ruby 2 – has been awarded the Good Design Award.
Ruby 2 is an easy-to-use sparkling water maker made of durable aluminum, available in six different colours. It has previously won the Red Dot Product Design award in 2023. In addition, the previous version of the Ruby collection has been chosen as the best carbonation device on the market in Germany in 2022.
“Our aim was to create an iconic design classic that elevates any kitchen to the next level – a Design that is simultaneously eye-catching, while being timelessly simple.
We wanted to make a product that is designed and manufactured so well that it can withstand time and daily use for decades.” says Arni Aromaa, creative director of Pentagon Design, who was responsible for the design.
This vision is also reflected in the choice of materials for Ruby 2. Instead of fossil-based plastic the body of the device is made of aluminum which is a durable yet light-weight material that creates a beautiful matte finish.

For nearly 75 years, the Good Design Award, organized by The Chicago Athenaeum, has risen awareness about contemporary design and innovations. It honors both products and industry leaders in manufacturing and design that go new ways and keep pushing for new innovations in the marketplace. Submissions are evaluated for the highest aesthetic with regards to innovative design, new technologies, form, materials, construction, concept, function, utility, and energy efficiency, and sensitivity to the environment.
