Glassy

With which models can the Mysoda glass bottle be used?

The glass bottles are compatible with Glassy sparkling water makers only

It is not compatible with the other Mysoda models Woody, Ruby, Ruby 2, and Toby.

How to insert a new CO2 cylinder into Glassy?

  1. Remove the cover on the back of the device.
  2. If necessary unscrew the empty cylinder and remove it. To do so, tilt the cylinder forward.
  3. Tilt the cylinder base forward and screw in the new cylinder.
  4. Tighten firmly.

Device behaves strangely, leaks gas, or does not carbonate

This issue may arise especially after changing the cylinder.

  1. The CO2 cylinder may be attachet too loosely. Check that the cylinder is properly fastened and thighten it firmly if necessary.
  2. Check the black o-ring at the same time. Is the seal ring with a diametre of approximately 2 cm sitting at the connection between cylinder and device in place? It may have moved out of place or is missing. If necessary, we will supply you with a new seal. The video shows Woody, but it works just the same with Glassy.
  3. If the seal is in place, try once more to reattach the cylinder firmly. To see how to attach a clyinder to Glassy, you can also watch the respective video above.

Glassy’s door does not stay closed

  1. Tilt the bottle fully forward, as if you were going to remove it. If no bottle is attached you can also just tilt the nozzle ring forward. In that case pleasemake sure to move the ring and not the nozzle as it may other wise get damaged.
  2. Move the bottle or nozzle fully back into vertical position.
  3. The door should now close normally.

After every carbonation the nozzle needs to be moved forward at least once in order to “reset” the device. That should happen anyways, since you need to remove the bottle. If the device is not reset, a safety mechanism will prevent the door from closing.

Glassy is leaking water

Before we conclude that the device is faulty, please confirm that the bottle is not filled higher with water than up to the filling line during carbonation.

Too much water in the bottle may cause it to overflow. This is more likely to happen with Glassy, as with carbonation happening behind a closed door you cannot watch the process.

Wipe the counter and fill the bottle with cold water up to the filling line. Then try carbonating again.

When pushing the carbonating button a clicking sound can be heard at first. What is that?

Glassy’s door has a safety feature to keep it closed during the carbonation and when the chamber is under pressure. When pushing the carbonation button the first time, this safety feature seals the door for the carbonation process that is about to start. When you push the door opening button, the device releases the pressure and door can be opened again.

Other frequently asked questions about GLassy

Mysoda sparkling water makers  are made in China. But, the raw material of the device, UPM Formi EcoAce wood composite, is manufactured in Finland utilising the residues of the sawmill and pulp industries.

First, make sure the CO2 cylinder is securely fastened. Do not overtighten or use tools. If the carbon dioxide cylinder in the appliance still loosens while carbonating, proceed as follows:

  • Remove the top of the device by turning it counterclockwise.
  • Remove the CO2 cylinder.
  • Make sure that the black O-ring is properly in place at the bottom of the base. Press firmly to seal with your finger.
  • If after this the CO2 cylinder still loosens when carbonating (even though the CO2 cylinder is tightly screwed in place), please contact info@mysoda.fi

Follow the instructions below:

  • Fill the bottle with cold water up to the mark.
  • Attach the bottle to the carbonator by turning it ¼ counterclockwise and gently pushing the bottle upright.
  • Carbonate the water by pressing the carbonation button 2-3 times. Stop when you hear the hiss.
  • Pull the bottle towards you to release the pressure in the bottle.
  • Remove the water bottle by turning it ¼ clockwise.
  • Ready!

Enjoy bubble water as is, or add Mysoda drink mixes.

You can clean the Mysoda carbonators by wiping the surface with a damp cloth. To prevent damage to the surface of the appliance, do not use strong detergents.

The white specks you can see on our Woody and Toby sparkling water makers are no sign of dirt or damage of the machine but part of their design and material. Our sparkling water makers are made of renewable wood-based composite. The white particles you see are wood fibres which are a component of the wood composite material used.

If Glassy does not carbonate or both buttons open the door, this indicates that the cylinder is installed either incorrectly, not screwed tight enough or during the cylinder exchange a small black seal ring (o-ring) has gone missing.

  1. Remove the back cover of the device.
  2. Unscrew the carbon dioxide cylinder from the device.
  3. There is a black seal on the bottom of the cylinder thread. Press the seal down with your finger to make sure it is seated straight and tight at the very bottom (also see above video for when the device behaves strangely, leaks gas or does not carbonate).
  4. Screw the CO2 cylinder back into the device and put the cover back in place. You should also make sure that the CO2 cylinder is screwed in really tightly before reattaching the back cover.
  5. If the problem persists, please reach out to our customer service.
  6. It may also be that this black seal (o-ring) has come off when changing the cylinder and that this is causing the problem. In this case too, please contact our customer service. We will supply you with a new seal ring.

If this doesn’t help, please also try to tilt the bottle quick-lock forward angle and push back (see above video with instructions for when the door is not closing). The door has a safety feature to keep it closed during the carbonation and when there is pressure inside and this mechanism needs to be reset by tilting the bottle quick-lock forward angle and by pushing it back to upright positioning.
